Dam Safety Regulations, 2016, L.I. 2236Regulation 25(1) The owner of a dam or the operator of a dam shall not alter that dam or alter the operation of that dam with an intention to decommission the dam, unless the owner or operator holds a Decommissioning Licence granted by the Commission.(2) The owner of a dam or the operator of a dam may apply to the Commission for a Decommissioning Licence by completing the application form set out in the Sixth Schedule and submitting the form to the Commission together with(a) general details of the decommissioning project;(b) engineering drawings indicating:(i) the location of the dam;(ii) the contour plan of the reservoir;(iii) the proposed changes to the hydraulic components of the dam to release water that could be dammed up by the remaining structure;(iv) the proposed structural changes to the dam;(v) works required to deal with sediments deposited in the reservoir; and (vi) disposal sites for materials removed from the dam during the decommissioning of the dam; and(c) other information determined by the Commission. |
