Regulation 262The manager of a mine shall in relation to that mine ensure that a work place in a building which is solely dependent on artificial lighting and in which a failure of the regular lighting system would create conditions that might endanger the safety of any person in the building, is provided with emergency lighting which (a) turns on automatically when regular lighting fails;(b) is independent of the regular lighting source;(c) provides adequate illumination for the evacuation of the building; and(d) is tested as frequently as necessary to ensure it will function in an emergency
