Minerals And Mining (Health, Safety And Technical Regulations, 2012) (L.I. 2182)Regulation 176(1) A manager of a mine shall ensure that safety pillars are erected and maintained on the inside of the boundary lines of the mine at a distance of not less than ten metres in width measured at right angles from the boundary line.(2) The Chief Inspector shall on the joint application of the owners of adjoining mines, give permission to either party to weaken, cut through or work on their respective pillars between the mines under conditions that the Chief Inspector may specify in writing.(3) The Chief Inspector may in the absence of a joint application, given written permission for the partial working, weakening or cutting through of the pillars under conditions that the Chief Inspector may specify in writing.(4) The application and permission under this regulation shall be as set in Form Twenty-Two in the First Schedule. |
