Regulation 20(1) A ship owner shall provide and maintain safe and decent accommodation facilities for seafarers working or living on board the ship.(2) The master or a person designated by the master shall(a) inspect the crew accommodation at intervals of not more than seven days;(b) be accompanied by a minimum of one member of the crew during the inspection of the crew accommodation; and(c) cause to be entered in the ship's official logbook(i) the time and date of the inspection,(ii) the names and ranks of the persons conducting the inspection, and(iii) the particulars of the crew accommodation or any part of it that is not compliant with these Regulations or any other relevant enactment.(3) A shipowner shall make the official logbook of the ship available for review by an authorised officer.
