Fisheries Regulations, 1979 (L.I. 1235) as amended by Fisheries (Amendment) Regulations, 1977 (L.I. 1106).Regulation 3:(1) No person shall use a seine net in any river unless a permit in the form set out in the Third Schedule to these Regulations for the use of such net has been granted by the Director of Fisheries or any persons authorised by him to act on his behalf; and any reference to the Director of Fisheries shall be construed as including any such person.(2) No permit shall be issued in respect of a seine net having a bag the mesh of which is less than 50 millimetres in stretched diagonal length.(3) A permit for the use of a seine net may for good cause be revoked by the Director of Fisheries.(4) For the purposes of this regulation, "seine net" means any net having two wings joined to a bag at its centre, and which for the purposes of taking fish is drawn through the water by means of ropes attached to the outer end of each wing. |
