Basic National Social Security Scheme Regulations, 2011 (L.I. 1989)Regulation 46 (1) A document used in connection with the Scheme which requires the signature of a member of the Scheme may be signed with the personal signature of the member but shall be authenticated by a clear impression of the members right thumb or any other thumbprint that the Director-General may direct. (2) The thumb impression and the signature shall be witnessed and counter-signed by the employer or an authorised representative of the employer or by a self-employed person or by an authorized representative of that person. (3) Where it is not possible for a member to provide the right thumb impression that member may provide a clear impression of the left thumb print of the member. (4) Where for any reason it is not possible for a member to provide a thumb print, the Director General may accept any other mark or identification that the Director-General considers appropriate. |
