Powers of enforcement authority to test appliance 15 (1) An enforcement authority may purchase and test an appliance to ascertain whether a provision of these Regulations has been contravened. (2) An enforcement authority shall have the power to obtain, remove and test an appliance to ascertain whether a provision of these Regulations has been contravened. (3) Where an enforcement authority is requested by any person to test an appliance and it is practicable for the authority to comply with the request, the authority shall seize detain and test the appliance. (4) The test conducted in respect of an appliance purchased or obtained under sub-regulation (1), seized and tested under subregulations (1) and (2) respectively or seized and detained under regulation 14, shall be carried out in accordance with the test procedures specified in the Standards.
