IMPORT DUTY EXEMPTIONS OF 5% FOR MINING COMPANIES FOR 253 MINING EQUIPMENT AND MACHINERY
Brief Description
•Power of Minister to grant mineral rights: The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources on
behalf of the President and on the recommendation of the Commission may negotiate, grant,
revoke, suspend or renew mineral rights in accordance with the Minerals and Mining Act
•The GRA together with the Ghana Chamber of Mines review and update mining list
periodically Mining companies registered with the Minerals commission may be exempt on importation
of mining equipment and machinery as contained in the mining list.
Criteria
Registration at the Ghana Chamber of Mines and the reduced rate being sought must
be on the 2011 mining list
